Governments engaging with Tech companies on AI

Closed-door meetings to discuss how AI will shape our industries are being held. These meetings should provide key guidance and strategy for how to develop the future of AI and progress.

How governments intervene and set the boundaries of AI is extremely important for its growth. These companies operating in U.S. and operating at the high level stakes that they do would certainly prefer to have some guidelines now to avoid having regulation hamper their growth. At the same time, government regulations without proper information on what AI can become will hinder progress in U.S., as we have seen on other technologies such as blockchain.

Thus, welcoming tech into the fold and actually getting insight at this stage on how that governance structure should look is a welcome step in the right direction.

Several governments are considering how to mitigate the dangers of the emerging technology, which has experienced a boom in investment and consumer popularity in recent months after the release of OpenAI's ChatGPT.
